After an outmost exciting trip to Germany, London is this week’s destination. We are really in the midst of the fall conferencing season and as it goes there are a whole lot of smart Burt guys taking over stages out there. We’ll be visiting OMMA Display, ATS London, DeNormalised and Ad:Tech London this week just to name a few.
This week’s star is definitely Burt VP of Product Carl Nelvig, kick-starting the week by “grilling” the vendors at the first OMMA European event - OMMA Display London. He will be taking on four vendors that all “claim to be cracking the code on attribution”. Are you at the OMMA yourself come by at 4PM for a hopefully dynamic discussion before you head for the cocktails :)
When? Monday 4PM
Where? OMMA Display London
As a part of the Ad:Tech London http://www.ad-techlondon.co.uk/ later this week, Carl will also be giving a keynote on Audience & Attention and this being the Ultimate ROI. The keynote is a part of the Real Time Advertising Summit and Carl will try to give a Burt perspective on the automated buying and mostly what they might still lack… In his own words:
“Buying audience today has a very limited value if you can’t guarantee that your message has actually been delivered with impact. Great solutions for automating the buying process of targeted ads are not lacking but none of them guarantees that you’ve actually reached your audience. The reason for this lies in the vast inconsistencies built into today’s currency, the “ad impression”. By combining a consistent media quality, possible through premium direct buys, with the precise audience capabilities offered by the LUMA landscape, online display is finally ready to offer what every marketer takes for granted in traditional media - audience and attention!”
When? Thursday at 3:30 PM
Where? Ad:Tech London - Real Time Advertising Summit
Basically at the same time just across the town, Burt’s big data chef Theo will be talking about our experiences building distributed systems at London DeNormalised conference in September. It’s going to be two days of presentations and discussions about NoSQL, big data and distributed systems.
Theo’s talk is called Learning to Build Distributed Systems the Hard Way, and will be about all the mistakes made and the lessons learned while building our data crunching platform.
The conference will also feature presentations about Cassandra, Neo4j, MongoDB and just about all of the tools-du-jour of the big data scene. It’s going to be a jam packed and exciting two days.
When? Thursday at 4:00 PM
