It’s that time of year – Techcrunch50

Time to take a trip down memory lane. It’s been almost a year since me and Gustav M presented an early prototype of Copybox at Techcrunch50 2008.

And naturally, the response from the judges:

What have we learned since then? Well, as it turns out, building a word processor is really hard. And building one that revolutionizes creative writing is even harder.

We’ve done over 10 major iterations of Copybox since Techcrunch50, and we still have some way to go before it’s worth releasing anything on a broader scale. One thing that has impacted Copybox development is that we’ve put in a lot of resources into developing our other two products, Meme Machine and Rich.

Now that’s a pretty drastic decision but has paid off pretty well. Meme Machine powered a Cannes winner this summer and early tests of Rich indicates that it’s just as powerful as Copybox in getting creatives to think more digital, if not more.

All in all, it’s been a great year though I have a feeling that 2010 is really going to be our time to shine. Looking forward to see what Techcrunch50 has in stock for us this year!
